6 Step Chrysalis Personal Transformation Program

Basic Outline of the 6 Steps

The Pythagoreans acknowledged number 6 to be the first perfect number and is a symbol of completeness.

“Six is a number perfect in itself, not because God created all things in six days; rather, the converse is true - God created all things in six days because the number is perfect.” Saint Augustine (The City of God)

1. Recognising Powerlessness:

Powerlessness is the state of being “shipwrecked”. We all take our own pattern of thinking as normative, logical, and true. We keep doing the same thing over and over again, even if it is not working for us. That is the self-destructive pattern of addiction and of the mind. In step 1 we use the Enneagram as an instrument to identify our “addictions of the mind” and recognise reactive patterns. As Richard Rohr so bluntly put is “it the imperial ego that has to go, and only powerlessness can do the job correctly.”

2. Recognising Our Desperate Desire:

To finally take the leap of faith required to surrender ourselves to healing, Richard Rohr describes three spaces within ourselves that need to be opened up all at the same time: our opinionated head, our closed-down heart, and our defensive and defended body. Tools including meditation, somatic exercises, EFT, NLP and hypnotherapy are used to reconnect head, heart and body to open up these spaces.

3. Surrendering to the Process:

A wonderful lesson in acceptance. We learn to accept what is, to accept ourselves, others, the past, our own mistakes, and the imperfection and idiosyncrasies of almost everything. “What you resist, persists”

5. Accountability:

You can’t heal what you don’t acknowledge - what you don’t acknowledge somehow has a hold on you and becomes destructive to you and those around you. Admitting our wrongs to each other is a deep and enriching experience on both sides. Healing comes from the bearing and baring of truth.

4. Moral Inventory:

We recognise that the only way people can really reach a higher consciousness is through the intentional struggles with contradictions, conflicts, inconsistencies, inner confusions. We explore our shadow and see and name our faults. Our shadow is not our “evil” side, it is that part of us that we don’t want to see (what we consider our unacceptable self) We meet and learn to recognise and work with our inner critic, identify core values and develop a personal mission statement.

6. Letting Go:

We have to work to see our many resistances, excuses, and blockages to putting our personal mission statement into action as a way of being.
